Category I attachments

Category I (Cat I) is the dominant 3-point hitch standard for compact tractors in the 20 to 45 PTO HP range. Pin diameters are 7/8 inch lower and 3/4 inch top link with a standard 28 inch lift arm spacing. The vast majority of attachments sold for compact tractors ship as Cat I.

Cat I attachments cover everything from 4-foot rotary cutters to 7-foot box blades, with the broadest selection and best pricing of any hitch category. Most aftermarket and brand-name implements default to Cat I.

• Confirm your tractor's lift arm spacing before purchase. Limited Cat I is narrower than standard Cat I and may require modification.
• Match implement weight against your 3-point lift capacity at 24 inches, not at the pin.
• For PTO-driven implements, verify your tractor has a 540 RPM PTO. Cat I implements rarely use 1000 RPM.
